Explore the world like never before while completing your education. Global education programs at GCU give you access to the world, enabling you to find your place in today’s global society. Students of all socio-economic backgrounds can connect with the world in authentic and relevant ways, and leverage those experiences into rewarding careers.

Programs include short trips, as well as entire semesters abroad. Going through the university to organize your trip ensures you can maximize the experience to meet educational and service learning criteria, stay in established settings, and stay safe traveling.

Georgian Court has long held, as part of its mission, a dedication to serving students in need and providing them with a transforming educational experience rooted in the Mercy Core Values and preparing them for ethical leadership. This includes a commitment to global education experiences.

GCU offers its students international credit-bearing programming at:

  • 55 international universities on five continents: Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Australia.
  • 3 international partners: John Cabot University in Rome, Italy; Saint Mary’s of Twickham in London, England; and University of Stirling in Stirling, Scotland.
  • 3 international program providers: Academic Programs International (API), International Study Abroad (ISA), and Spanish Studies Abroad (SSA).

Our International Partner programs are developed with strong academics and are taught at some of the most prestigious universities and institutes around the world by professors employed by the host institution.

GCU faculty-led study abroad programs are defined as GCU credit-bearing and non-credit-bearing programs that include student travel outside the United States conducted by GCU faculty and other appropriate GCU employees.

In addition, GCU also provides students with numerous additional opportunities for education abroad service learning and internship opportunities.

GPA requirements vary and are set by the host institutions. Typically, the range of acceptable GPA is from 2.5 to 3.0 and up. Letters of recommendation are required for some programs.

Please consult the program pages for the specifics of each program.

As with much of a study abroad experience, the extent to which you are involved is up to you. GCU and its partners provide every opportunity for an academically and culturally rich experience. In all GCU-approved programs, students are fully enrolled in the host institution and study alongside students from that country as well as other international students. In most programs, students may take advantage of the full curriculum offered at the host university and are fully integrated into the academic community.

While almost all students participating in GCU-approved programs are from North America, students have access to many opportunities to immerse themselves in the host culture. Many will be fully integrated into the university and take classes with host country students as well as students from around the world. They may also get involved in on and off-campus activities ranging from cooking classes to university clubs. There are also volunteer and service learning opportunities available.
