“Traveling abroad for our service trip to Guyana, softened my heart. Being able to take a lot in, and deal with a lot of heaviness on this trip has helped me to understand people, and why people commit crime—sometimes because it’s a last resort to be able to eat. Understanding diversity, and being empathetic will be extremely helpful in my career in law enforcement.”
