Presidential Full Tuition Scholarships

Georgian Court University reserves the right to review, adjust, or cancel awards at any time because of changes in your financial, academic status, academic program, athletic program, resident status , enrollment status (full-time to part-time), or students code of conduct violations. Awards are contingent upon actual receipt and verification of funds by GCU. If adjustments are made to the university’s federal and/or state allocations, the university reserves the right to adjust individual institutional aid awards at the beginning of each semester, as necessary. All students’ financial aid awards, to include the universities institutional aid, are contingent on the availability of funds.
Presidential Full Tuition Scholarship recognizes young women who are candidates for the freshman class with a combined 1200 SAT(critical reading and math) or higher or 26 ACT composite or higher with a 3.0 grade point average in academic courses will be considered for this full tuition scholarship. Candidates must apply and be accepted as a full-time, campus resident to Georgian Court University by January 1 to be considered for this award. Candidates not selected for the Presidential Scholarship are always awarded the next highest academic scholarship.
Bishop John Smith Full Tuition Scholarship (1) is a full tuition scholarship offered to a young woman or man who is an active member of a Catholic church in the Diocese of Trenton, NJ. Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average in academic courses of 3.0 by the end of the junior year of high school and a 1000 SAT score (critical reading and math). Candidates must apply and be accepted for full-time admission to Georgian Court University and submit a completed Bishop John Smith Full Tuition Scholarship application with recommendations by January 1. Georgian Court University Academic Scholarships are available for full-time freshman applicants who have applied and been accepted to Georgian Court University prior to March 15.
Women in Leadership Development Awards are available for young women who have exhibited outstanding community service to their school, community or church. Candidates must apply for admission as full-time, campus residents and be accepted and submit a Women in Leadership Development application with recommendations by January 1.
Academic Mercy High School Scholarships are available for young women who are graduating from a Sister of Mercy sponsored high school. Candidates must apply for full-time admission by January 1 and submit a letter of recommendation from the school principal or guidance director in support of the candidate.
Academic Dance Scholarships are available for women and men in the Dance program. Candidates must apply for full-time admission and be offered an audition before January 20 to compete for these talent awards.
Academic NJ Girls State Scholarships are available for young women who participated in the NJ Girls State Program in their junior year in high school. Candidates must apply for full-time admission by January 30. A limited number of awards are available.
Talent Scholarships in Art and Music are available for young women and men. Candidates must apply for full-time admission and be offered an audition or portfolio review before January 20 to compete for these talent awards.
Legacy Award for the daughter/son or granddaughter/grandson of a Georgian Court University graduate who enters GCU as a full-time, first-time undergraduate degree freshman. Students will be eligible to receive the award during their sophomore, junior and senior years of full time enrollment.
Alumni Ambassador Award for women and men referred by an GCU Alumni Ambassador. Candidates seeking admission as a full-time, first time undergraduate freshman are eligible to receive the award during their sophomore, junior, and senior years of full time enrollment.
Athletic Awards for full-time, undergraduate women competing in NCAA Division II sports in Basketball, Cross Country, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball and Track and Field.
Georgian Court University Out of State Grant will be awarded to new freshmen students whose legal residence is outside of NJ and who will be campus residents. This grant will supplement their cost of education to attend college out of their home state. This annual grant will be applied to their financial aid award after their submission of the FAFSA.

Georgian Court University participates in the federal and state financial aid programs including: Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), Federal Work Study Program, Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans, Parent PLUS Loans, Academic Competitiveness Grant, Federal TEACH Grant, National SMART Grant, Yellow Ribbon Program and community service jobs.
Students who reside in New Jersey may be eligible for: New Jersey Tuition Aid Grant (TAG), New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund Program, Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars/Urban Scholars Program, and NJ Class Loan.

This listing is provided for informational purposes for incoming freshmen applicants for the academic year beginning Fall 2010 only. Once enrolled, students must meet the requirements to renew their awards each year. Institutional awards for new incoming freshmen students for Fall 2011 will be determined at a later date. All entering full time undergraduate freshmen for Spring 2010 are awarded under the existing scholarship format 8/09. All current GCU undergraduate students fall under the scholarship format in effect at the time of their initial enrollment.
