GCU’s University College Holds Information Sessions
Lakewood, N.J., Sept. 13, 2007—On Tuesday, September 11, Georgian Court University’s University College conducted an orientation and partnership meeting with Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) in the Casino Ballroom of the Lakewood campus. JCP&L employees attended this event to kick off the 54-credit M.B.A. program being offered on-site at JCP&L’s Red Bank offices.
The program was designed to assist employees in local area businesses with developing their on-the-job management skills as well as achieving the completion of their graduate-level college education. This accredited program gives them the flexibility to achieve an M.B.A. degree with evening classes at JCP&L’s facility, as well as courses on the university’s Lakewood campus, online, and via video-teleconferencing. Classes are underway this semester.
Rosemary E. Jeffries, RSM, Ph.D., president of GCU, and Stephen Morgan, president of JCP&L, agreed to the partnership and made comments at the event. Also present for the ceremony from Georgian Court were Joseph F. Gower, Ph.D., provost; Joseph Molitoris, Ph.D., director of University College; and Leslie Korb, Ph.D., director of the M.B.A. program, among others.
“Georgian Court University is excited to partner with this important utility in the state of New Jersey,” says President Jeffries. “GCU seeks to offer JCP&L employees the tools they need to perform effectively, enhance their skills, and take advantage of opportunities for promotion. JCP&L employees asked for a program to enable them to pursue an M.B.A. degree, and Georgian Court University has provided this quality program in the workplace.”
Georgian Court University will host information sessions on all University College programs on three Thursdays this fall: October 4, November 1, and December 6.
