History, Geography, Politics and Law

Overview

The study of History, Geography, Politics and Law is like good detective work. It involves imagination, solid research, critical analysis, and the ability to organize evidence, then formulate, develop, and present an argument. By offering context and perspective, American, European, and non-Western courses help you develop an appreciation of the past, an understanding of the present, a respect for other cultures, and the ability to shape the future. Internships at historical societies and sites and government agencies, as well as research with faculty, help you hone insights and talents.

As global thinkers and students of diverse cultures, history graduates bring much to the table in business, industry, and government. They have become business leaders, managers, bankers, archivists, museum curators, historic preservationists, tourism specialists, park rangers, intelligence analysts, political activists, lobbyists, Peace Corps workers, teachers, lawyers, and judges.
