THE MISSION of the newly formed Office of Institutional Effectiveness is (1) to conduct research and analysis in order to provide information that supports institutional planning, assessment, policy analysis, leadership practices and decision making and (2) to facilitate institutional effectiveness that advances the priorities of the university. The formation of this office is directly linked to Strategic Initiative IV: Goal 4.6, of the Georgian Court University’s 2012-2017 Strategic Plan which states, “develop a culture of planning and assessment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in the management of the university.”
To that end, OUR VISION is to cultivate a culture of planning and assessment in which a systematic, sustained and thorough use of qualitative and quantitative evidence supports teaching and learning at Georgian Court University.
Goals of the office are:
Collect, disseminate, and promote the use of accurate and accessible institutional data.
Champion a system of institutional planning and assessment to facilitate the use of results into continuous process improvement initiatives and accreditation efforts.
Track data for use in comparative and benchmark analyses to fulfill institutional reporting obligations to regulatory agencies and other external entities;
Maintain a data warehouse of institutional data and intelligence used in surveys, reports, the Fact Book and institutional dashboards.
Develop and implement a process for the update and maintenance of the university’s volumes of policies and procedures and assist in the formulation of new or revisions to existing policies.
Promote a leadership framework that strengthens the university capability in leadership practices with a practical focus on planning, assessment, budgeting, and data driven decision-making rooted in the university’s Mercy Core Values.
Facilitate retreat services and Strategic Planning Online training and education.
Provide self-service for routine operational reports from the Institutional Research Information Service (IRIS).
