Collections
The Sister Mary Joseph Cunningham Library supports the information and research needs of the university community. (see Collection Development Policies) In addition to over 200,000 print, online and AV materials, the collection also includes Archives, the Instructional Materials Center (IMC), Special Collections, maps and the Merton Collection.
The library also houses the NASA Educator Resource Center for the state of New Jersey.
The Merton Collection
The Robert X. and Sharron L. Briden Merton Collection consists of books and other materials prepared by Thomas Merton, O.C.S.O., or by others about him. It includes an almost complete collection of Thomas Merton's major books in first editions and many articles published throughout his lifetime.
For a listing of the contents of the collection, search the Library catalog by the keywords: Merton Collection, or contact a reference librarian at reference@georgian.edu or 732.987.2422.
Special Collections and Archives
The Georgian Court University Library has collections of specialized materials maintained apart from the general collection. These special collections are housed in specific locations due primarily to their literary and/or historical value, rarity, age, condition and unusual format. The specialized nature of these resources dictates that they receive special handling, as well as, remain in a temperature controlled environment. Special collections are secured and housed with the first floor (Room 117). The Archives collection is secured and housed on the second floor (Room 205).

Instructional Materials Center
Welcome to the Instructional Materials Center! The IMC is designed primarily for use by those students and faculty in the School of Education but may be used by any member of the Georgian Court community. Housed in the lower level of the library, the IMC is available whenever the library is open.
The IMC houses a specialized collection of K-12 textbooks, juvenile/young adult literature, a small collection of periodicals and an activity file. A collection of K-12 software is housed as part of the library's AV collection. All of these materials may be checked out at the library circulation desk by current Georgian Court students, faculty and staff only.
All IMC textbooks, juvenile/young adult literature titles, periodical titles and K-12 software are listed in and searchable through the Library's Online Catalog. For instructions on searching the library catalog for IMC materials, click here.
Georgian Court students should also check the Subject Resources/Education page for additional resources in education.
Please contact the Behavioral Sciences Librarian Barbara Herbert (732.987.2428) or email reference@georgian.edu with any questions or comments regarding the IMC.
