The library has many resources in the field of business. The purpose of this Research Brief is to give you some suggestions for getting started. Please note that the librarian at the Reference Desk (732-987-2422) can suggest other useful sources and assist you in using the library catalog and the electronic resources. ONLINE RESOURCES & BUSINESS DATABASES
Searching by topic in these databases will give you a list of articles that appeared in journals, newspapers and databanks. The Journal List will help you locate specific articles using citations. These resources are available both on and off campus: the user name and password for remote access is the same as those used to access the campus network.
New York Times (full text in Lexis Nexis; indexed selectively in Wilson Business Abstracts)

Premier business journal database; includes full text of the Wall Street Journal from 1984 – present. Search by topic, company name or industry type.
Business Source Premier (EBSCO)
Major business database; includes full text of the Harvard Business Review.
Business Abstracts (Wilson Omnifile)

Hoovers Online
Company information; provides in-depth profiles of major companies; see competitive landscape, links to recent press releases, company homepages and SEC data.
LEXIS/NEXIS
Business and news database with newspaper articles and full text NY Times; includes company, industry, tax & legal information
NetAdvantage (Standard & Poors)
Online version of the Standard & Poor’s suite of business publications. Provides in-depth economic and business information on 52 major US industries in Industry Surveys, analysis of stock market trends in Stock Reports that track key ratios for the past 10 years, plus mutual fund and bond reports. Search under company name for in-depth profiles including financial data and competitors.
Value Line
Investment information service provides in-depth financial reports and ratios for 1700 stocks in 94 industries. Includes full-page individual stock reports (including income statements) and industry reviews. Use tabs at left to "lookup company" and "lookup industry".

The library catalog lists books, e-books, periodicals, maps and audiovisual materials in the GCU Library.
