Lakewood, N.J., Mar. 9, 2007—Like to travel, but don’t have a lot of time or money to spare? Join Georgian Court University for a day trip to two of nearby Philadelphia’s most famous museums on Saturday, April 21.
Your first stop will be the Rosenbach Museum and Library, which was once the home of two brothers, Dr. A.S.W. and Philip Rosenbach. This research center is home to one of the nation’s great collections of rare books and manuscripts, as well as a beautiful, historic townhouse filled with fine art and antiques.
Your journey continues with a visit to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. One of the largest museums in the United States, the Philadelphia Museum of Art invites visitors to explore its renowned collections, acclaimed special exhibitions, and enriching programs. The museum contains over 225,000 works of art, including Renaissance master paintings, elaborately carved stone altarpieces, and entire period rooms and architectural settings from around the world.
The cost is $100 per person and includes lunch, guided tours of both museums, and round-trip motorcoach transportation from GCU’s Lakewood campus. The bus will leave from Georgian Court’s Seventh Street Gate at 8:00 a.m. Reservations are required.
