Georgian Court’s University College Offers Information Session
GCU Hosts Information Sessions on Step Ahead Program and Programs for Businesses
Lakewood, N.J., Mar. 23, 2007—On Thursday, April 12, the coeducational University College at Georgian Court University will host an information session on the more than 36 high school, undergraduate, graduate, teacher education, and business training programs offered by the four schools of the college. The information session will be held in the Arts and Science Center, Room 165, on the Lakewood campus from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The information session will include information on two of University’s College’s new programs, the Step Ahead program for high school students looking to earn college credits, and the Business Communications program for businesses.
The Step Ahead program allows qualified 11th- and 12th-grade students to earn college credit while still completing their high school studies. To qualify for the program, students must have a 3.0 grade point average, an 82 high school average, or a B or higher grade in their high school courses. A letter of endorsement from a teacher or counselor is required after May 2007, and students must maintain an acceptable grade point average in their Georgian Court classes in order to continue the program. Students may take one course per semester, with a maximum of three courses per year.
The Business Communications program offers training for employees in local businesses who want to both solidify their own job skills and complete their college education at the same time. This program gives employees the planning, writing, presenting, and communication skills so vital in business with the flexibility of learning both on-site at their business location and after work at Georgian Court’s Lakewood campus.
To register for the event or for further information on any of these programs, please contact the University College at 732.987.2132 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
