GCU Exhibit Displays Nature-Inspired Artwork of Talented Seniors
“Transitions” Exhibit to Feature Pieces from Jill DeAngelis ’07 and Leslie Miller ‘07
Lakewood, N.J., Apr. 30, 2007—Visit the M. Christina Geis Art Gallery between May 7 and June 8, 2007, to check out “Transitions,” the joint art exhibit of GCU seniors Jill DeAngelis of Seaside Park and Leslie Miller of Manalapan. The exhibit will feature nature-inspired oil paintings, stained glass, and ceramics.
“Jill DeAngelis and Leslie Miller are outstanding art students. Each has experimented with various media and discovered that several exemplify her spirit. Jill’s paintings and Leslie’s ceramics, in particular, are featured in this exhibition,” says M. Phyllis Breimayer, RSM, Ph.D., chair of the GCU Departments of Art and Music.
Ms. DeAngelis will display oil paintings that reflect nature, and are inspired by her experience with living by the shore. Ms. Miller will display artwork of various media, including stained glass, ceramics, and paintings, that are inspired by her concern with the environment.
“Transitions” will be on display from May 7 through June 8. An opening reception will be held on Tuesday, May 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The exhibit and reception are both free and open to the public.
The M. Christina Geis Art Gallery is located on the second floor of the Arts and Science Center on the Lakewood campus. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information, call Kathleen Settles at 732.987.2388.
