Georgian Court University Welcomes New CIO
Lakewood, N.J., Nov. 25, 2008—Georgian Court University has a new chief information officer. Frank J. Johnson of Tinton Falls is now in charge of ensuring that all of the university’s technological operations, from registration to Internet access to software integration, run smoothly.
Mr. Johnson has served in higher education for more than 14 years at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Monmouth University, and Burlington County College. Prior to Georgian Court, Mr. Johnson held the positions of network team leader and director of user services at Monmouth University. His responsibilities included supervising personnel and managing daily workflow to provide hardware and software support for state-of-the-art computer laboratories and the entire end-user community.
As Georgian Court’s CIO, he supervises information technology personnel and manages daily workflow for the Office of Information Technology. He oversees system administration, software integration, licensing, and all functions related to that office. He is also a project manager for hardware/software upgrades, voice-over Internet protocol (VOIP) telephony, and help desk and desktop services, among others.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the College of New Jersey, a New Jersey state teaching certificate, and has been working towards a master’s (M.S.Ed) degree. He is also the author of 3D AutoCAD for Architects & Engineers, published by McGraw-Hill.
