Georgian Court Invites Guests to Indulge in Cabaret Café
Afternoon Coffeehouse to Provide Goodies and Guitar Music
Lakewood, N.J., Apr. 6, 2009—There is no better complement to an assortment of coffees and pastries than melodious tones and stimulating renditions. Georgian Court University invites guests to its latest Cabaret Café, an afternoon coffeehouse featuring the guitar music of Howell musician Robinson Rivera.
Robinson Rivera started his studies of guitar at the age of 8 with his uncle, a talented musician. At the age of 13, he enrolled in the Newark Community School of the Arts, where he won numerous awards. He quickly became a teacher there. After graduation, Mr. Rivera enrolled at the Manhattan School of Music, where he earned a degree in performance. Mr. Rivera has been a teacher in the public schools of New Jersey, and is currently performing in fine restaurants, senior residences, assisted living facilities, and at private parties throughout central New Jersey. He performs a wide variety of music, from classical to pop to ethnic.
“Mr. Rivera brings a sense of community with his music. He makes guests feel relaxed while they listen to his soothing melodies,” said Mary Cranwell, director of conferences and special events.
Cabaret Café will be held in the Casino Ballroom on GCU’s Lakewood campus on Sunday, April 26, at 2:00 p.m. The cost is $20 per person in advance and $30 per person at the door, which includes the performance and refreshments. Reservations are required.
