GCU Offers PRAXIS II Preparation Class for Aspiring Educators
Lakewood, N.J., Jan. 26, 2010—The Office of Student Support Services at Georgian Court University is offering a preparation class for those planning to take the PRAXIS II, Elementary Education: Content Knowledge Test (0014). This test is required to obtain elementary education certification in New Jersey. The course will consist of six Friday sessions—a practice test session on February 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and five content sessions from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on February 12, 19, 26 and March 12 and 19, with a weather makeup day scheduled for March 26. All sessions will be held in the Little Theatre on Georgian Court University's Lakewood campus. The class is open to anyone in the general public planning to take this test.
This preparation course will cover the contents of the test, address specific test-taking strategies, and will provide a review of the four subject areas: math, science, social studies, and language arts. The course also includes a practice test that will be scored and returned, so that students can test their knowledge and test-taking skills prior to the actual exam.
Even though the course is designed for the first-time test-taker, it may also benefit those who are planning to take a retest to raise their certification score to achieve the highly qualified status required for employment.
