Georgian Court University to Hold Annual Halloween Celebration
Lakewood, N.J., Oct. 12, 2011—Halloween is a night for carved pumpkins, costumes, and treats. But you don’t have to settle for the same boring routine. Residents of Ocean and Monmouth counties are offered to enjoy an evening with Georgian Court University for Halloween.
The university will host this “spooktacular” event from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, in the Casino building on the Lakewood campus. Activities include a ghost walk, haunted house, hayrides, storytelling, and refreshments. Guests will also be able to trick or treat on the first floor of Maria Hall. This is a drug and alcohol free event that is open to the public, and children of all ages are welcome to take part in the celebration. Costumes are not mandatory but welcomed.
“The Halloween celebration is an annual event hosted and sponsored by the Student Government Association. Both the GCU family and surrounding communities are invited to join us with their children for a safe, fun, and festive evening,” says Karen Goff, GCU dean of students. “Instead of monetary donations, attendees are asked to donate nonperishable items for a local food bank. It's a great way of bringing the community together while contributing to a worthy cause.”
Admission is a donation of nonperishable canned foods. All contributions benefit Catholic Charities, and will be distributed in the Lakewood area to help low-income families. All participants must RSVP by Thursday, October 20, to email@example.com or 732.987.2606.
