GCU Art Gallery Hosts Fourth Congressional District Art Competition

Lakewood, N.J., Apr. 29, 2011—Georgian Court University will host the Fourth Congressional District Art Competition for amateur artists from May 2 through May 5 at the M. Christina Geis Art Gallery. The winning entry will be placed on display in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

GCU to Explore Works of French Realist Gustave Courbet

Lakewood, N.J., Apr. 19, 2011—On Friday, May 6, join Georgian Court University assistant professor of art history, Lisa Festa, Ph.D., as she presents a multimedia lecture about the art of Realist movement leader, Jean Désiré Gustave Courbet (1819–1877). Enjoy traditional music paired with a multicourse French dinner, followed by Dr. Festa’s lecture. This event will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the North Dining Room on the Lakewood campus.

Georgian Court University Recognized by EPA as Top Green Power Purchaser in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in 2010–2011

Lakewood, N.J., Apr. 18, 2011—Georgian Court University announced today that it was recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as the 2010–2011 Individual Conference Champion for using more green power than any other school in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).

New Jersey Watercolorist’s Work on Display in GCU Gallery

Here’s your opportunity to get a basic understanding of social networking. Georgian Court University is offering “Social Networking 101,” a hands-on workshop that introduces you to a variety of new and emerging technologies used in today’s online environment. The two-hour workshop will take place on Saturday, April 9, at 11:00 a.m. in the Raymond Hall Computer Lab 101 on the Lakewood campus.
