Early Alert Interventions

Sometimes students get off course. Here at GCU the faculty and staff are committed to your success. We have developed an Early Warning or Early Alert System which enables faculty to notify our intervention team when you are struggling. Our intervention team, comprised of Academic Support Specialists, then goes into action to work with you toward a successful outcome. Working together we create an individual success plan to help you achieve your goals.

Probationary Student Support

All students on probation need to complete a contract with the Student Success Center. This contract is an agreement to utilize services provided to you for the improvement of your academic transcript. The Academic Support Specialist is assigned to work with you to aid in your development of key skill for academic success including, time management, study techniques, avoiding academic pitfalls, text anxiety and many more.

Testing to Earn College Level Credits

Students may be eligible to take examinations to prove comprehensive understanding of course material in exchange of coursework. There are many tests GCU supports through the Student Success Center including the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and DANTES subject standardized tests. It is recommended that students contact the Center for specific test information and credentialing prior to taking the exams.
