Artist Annmarie Holler Presents Digital Photography Exhibit Focused on Nature’s Details
Lakewood, N.J., October 18, 2017—Explore the color and texture of nature through “Hidden Wonders,” an exhibit of digital photography by Brick artist Annmarie Holler. The exhibit is currently on display through Friday, November 3, in the M. Christina Geis Art Gallery on the historic Lakewood campus of Georgian Court University.
Ms. Holler is able to capture and explore colorful and texturized pieces of nature through means of art and photography. Her exhibit at GCU features detailed and vibrant digital photographs of nature, including close-ups of lily pads and leaves.
“This exhibit is about the art that naturally surrounds us,” says Ms. Holler, who is also a lecturer in art at Georgian Court. “As artists, we are always looking for inspiration from the world. My inspiration comes from nature. I’ve always been interested in the colors, shapes, and textures that are naturally created around us,” explains Ms. Holler. “Most people walk around never noticing what is around them. In this exhibit, I want people to stop and see these hidden treasures around them.”
Ms. Holler holds a B.A. in Art Education and an M.F.A. in Painting/Interdisciplinary from Marywood University.
“Annmarie Holler’s current exhibition highlights her recent work using digital imagery to explore the natural world,” says Leo Morrissey, GCU associate professor of art and chair of the Department of Art and Visual Studies. “The images transcend mere photographs of nature; she accomplishes this through her sophisticated approach to the use of composition and color.
“Ms. Holler has a self-assured command of her media and her strong body of work indicates this,” adds Mr. Morrissey.
The gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. For more information, call Kathleen Settles at 732.987.2388 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
