Georgian Court University expands possibility while reaching beyond the state lines, once again, into the city that never sleeps—New York. This is the second out-of-state partnership for GCU as they sign a dual admissions and guaranteed admissions partnership with Cathedral High School. This new agreement offers the students from this all-girls school a seamless transition from high school in Manhattan to New Jersey’s centrally located Georgian Court University.

“Both schools are committed to the values of a good, Catholic education,” said GCU President Joseph R. Marbach, Ph.D.

This agreement is an opportunity for CHS students to gain greater access to a Catholic college education, and it provides new options for funding their journey toward earning a degree. GCU has been ranked, for three years in a row, as a “Best Bang for the Buck” institution and is a Catholic College of Distinction.

Catholic School Partnerships

The guaranteed admissions agreement is one of 12 such collaborations initiated by GCU. In recent years, schools like CHS are looking to give their students an upper hand on the college admissions process.

This guaranteed admissions agreement is instrumental by providing students with:

  • a smooth and successful option for transitioning into college;
  • an outlet that relieves much of the student burden in the college applications process;
  • and, a way to make higher education more accessible and affordable for Cathedral students by providing a direct, cohesive path to a four-year bachelor’s degree.

“I am very excited about this new academic collaboration. It opens up new opportunities and experiences for our students,” says Maria Spagnuolo, principal of Cathedral High School. “I am grateful to Georgian Court University and look forward to a long and productive relationship.”

Both schools are excited to work together in a way that furthers both their mission of academic rigor and excellence and the continuation of Catholic education.
