Berlioz’ Fantastic Symphony: Hector Takes a Trip
May 10 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
The first musical description of a “trip” was written 130-odd years before the inception of the Beatles. In 1830, the brilliant Hector Berlioz (1803-1869) composed Symphonie Fantastique and it truly is fantastic in every sense of the word. It was the first, and probably only, psychedelic symphony. Not just our characterization, Berlioz himself tells us so. Go on this adventure of the story behind the music, the music itself, and how Hector created this surreal classic.
