CARNEGIE CENTER & NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY TOURS & LUNCH
Through a guided tour, discover the flagship building of the New York Public Library—one of the world’s great libraries. A magnificent example of the Beaux-Arts style of architecture, this library has symbolized the democratic ideal of free and open access to knowledge since it opened to the public in 1911. Today, the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building welcomes millions of visitors a year from across the world who find inspiration in its majestic public spaces, unparalleled research collections, and vibrant programs and exhibitions. After your library tour, it’s off to Carnegie Hall, where your tour guide will share 125 years of Carnegie Hall history, walking you through the landmark building. You will also see the famous Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage from various points of view, walk through Composers Alley, hear the stories behind many of the famous signed photographs of performers hanging on the walls, and visit the Rose Museum with more than 400 Carnegie Hall artifacts. Enjoy lunch at a nearby neighborhood restaurant.
