An Evening with Catherine McAuley & Francis Warde
with Evelyn Saul Quinn, M.S.W., M.Ed., ’74, GCU Vice President for Mission Integration
Join us as we explore the life and legacy of Catherine McAuley (1778–1841), foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, as well as the many contributions of Mother Francis Warde (1810–1884), who is credited with bringing Mercy to the United States. As a result of the work of these and other Sisters, Mercy has spread worldwide to 47 different countries providing service in 17 colleges and universities in the United States, a variety of health care institutions, and many social service organizations that stand in solidarity, seeking social justice for those who are in need of support and advocacy. This will be an interactive and casual discussion on the wonderful gift of Mercy and will include tea, finger sandwiches, and sweets.
This event is open and free to all but limited to the first 50 registrants.
Tuesday, March 14, 5:00-7:00 p.m., Mansion, Great Hall (This date has been postponed due to the impending snowstorm. The new date is March 28, same time and location.)
