Lakewood, N.J., November 28, 2017—Start off the Christmas season with music performed by the Georgian Court University Community Chorale, a diverse group made up of men and women of all ages, at their annual Christmas concert. Conducted by Karen Mulhall, the chorale will perform a wide variety of seasonal favorites from classical to popular tunes—some sung in unique ways. The concert will take place Saturday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m. in the Dorothy Marron University Community Chapel located on the historic GCU campus in Lakewood, New Jersey.
There will be songs sung in Russian, a cappella, and even an early rock ‘n roll song from the 1950s. Some of the well-known holiday songs that will be performed include “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson; “O’ Holy Night,” arranged by Rene Clausen; “Rejoice and Be Merry” by John Rutter; and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” arranged by Paul Langford.
“I am especially excited about this concert as the new members include some Georgian Court students,” says Ms. Mulhall. “The choir will be accompanied by piano, strings, flute, and percussion. The selections are varied in styles and language, with both popular and classical pieces of music.”
Tickets will be sold at the door. Admissions are $15 for adults; $10 for seniors; free for GCU students with ID, children, and GCU community members with ID. For more information, contact Claire Lebret at 732-948-9464. No reservations or advanced purchase are required.
