Lakewood, N.J., November 30, 2018—Dash into the holiday spirit with merry music performed by the Georgian Court University Community Chorale. Under the direction of Karen Mulhall, this diverse group of men and women of all ages will perform a wide variety of classical, traditional, and popular seasonal favorites. The singers are accompanied by piano, violin, cello, flute, and percussion instruments. The chorale concert will take place on Saturday, December 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the Dorothy Marron University Community Chapel on the historic GCU campus in Lakewood, New Jersey.

“We have a wonderful variety of both classical and popular Christmas carols,” says Ms. Mulhall. “We’ll start the concert off with a Dvorak ‘Gloria’ and ‘See Amid the Winter Snow,’ a gorgeous song accompanied by strings and flutes, newly composed just last year. We have fun arrangements of ‘Ding Dong! Merrily on High’ and ‘Here We Come A-Caroling,’ as well as songs from the movies White Christmas, Home Alone, and Sister Act 2.

Other holiday tunes performed by the chorale will include: “Mary’s Little Boy Child,” arranged by Valerie Shields; “Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning,” arranged by Philip Kern; “Go Down, Moses,” arranged by Ruth Morris Gray; “Ecce Novum,” by Ola Gjeilo (the story of Christmas, sung in Latin by a Norwegian composer); “Do You Hear What I Hear?,” arranged by Harry Simone; “The Christmas Waltz” arranged by Steve Zegree; and the duet “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy.”

Tickets will be sold at the door; reservations are not required. Admission for the chorale concert is $15 for adults; $10 for seniors; and free for GCU students with ID, children, and GCU community members with ID.
