Georgian Court University has been awarded a $20,000 grant from NetVUE, the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education, to support a new peer ministry mentor program and an international Mercy service trip.

The Georgian Court University Lions marked another milestone this week as work began on GCU’s field turf complex. The project consists of a 103,917 square-foot conversion of the current soccer and lacrosse grass field, and is considered an investment in the university’s growth.

That’s one of the lessons Louise Wootton, Ph.D., GCU professor of biology, told Aqua Kids TV during an episode focused on the Maritime trail and dunes at Island Beach State Park. Dr. Wootton, who also serves as GCU’s director of sustainability, shared her ongoing research on invasive grasses, dune health, and more.
GCU Class of 2015 Gets Schooled on Faith, Values and Perspective

Georgian Court University graduates must remember that expertise in their chosen fields and success in their future careers will only take them so far.
Faith, is critical to true achievement, they were told during the school’s 2015 Commencement exercises. More than 350 undergraduates and nearly 200 master’s students were awarded degrees in fields from social work to psychology and homeland security to Integrative Health.
Georgian Court University’s 2015 Golf Classic drew more than 100 golfers and a full house of friends during the May 11 event at the Spring Lake Golf Club. Honoree Bob Mulcahy (above, center), who received the Joseph E. Buckelew Civic Service Award, emphasized the importance of raising money for student scholarships and a new turf project at GCU. President Emerita Rosemary E. Jeffries, RSM, Ph.D., was also honored at the event that raised nearly $130,000.
