Fall 2020 will be like no other time in Georgian Court University’s history, but I am confident that the hard work of faculty and staff over the last few months will pave the way for a successful semester.
Our comprehensive reopening plan (on file with the State of New Jersey) revolves around three areas: academic readiness, campus operations, and administrative operations. We kept the GCU mission in mind at all times, and balanced it with available data along with local, state, and federal public health orders and guidance.
The GCU approach to reopening focuses on meeting student and faculty needs inside and outside of the classroom and doing what is necessary to make the most of the student experience, student services, and general campus operations. Across all offices and departments, we are creating processes and procedures necessary for a safe return to campus.
The highlights of our plan are shared on these web pages, and our detailed, comprehensive approach to reopening GCU is also available. It is a living document that will be updated as needed.
Much of what we will be able to do on campus hinges largely on Stage 2 and Stage 3 status, as dictated by state officials. Still, our goal is the same: to deliver the best possible educational experience—on campus or online—while putting everyone’s health and safety first.
