How to Register
You'll be able to register for classes after meeting with your faculty advisor, who will authorize you to register for the term or session of your choice. Once you're authorized, register through Self-Service:
A note on waitlists and instructor-permission courses: if a course requires instructor permission, or you're on a waitlist and a spot opens up, you're not officially registered until you receive that permission — you'll be notified by GCU email once it's granted.
Viewing Course Schedules
Course schedules — including textbook information, detailed course descriptions, and service-learning sections — are available through Self-Service.

Registering for a Full Course
A course is full, but you really need it — is there any way in? Maybe. We can't overload a course before a room assignment is made. Once we know how large a room the course is assigned to, we can, with instructor approval, exceed the stated course maximum. However, if the assigned room is filled to capacity, we can't register another student, even with instructor permission.
Adding or Dropping a Course
You may add or drop a course during the first two weeks of the fall or spring 14-week semester, during the first three days of the winter session, or during the first week of any other session (7-week, 10-week, or summer sessions). You can add or drop online until 11:59 p.m. on the last day of that window — any course dropped online by that deadline won't appear on your transcript. To drop by paper form instead, submit it to our office by the close of business on the last day of the add/drop window.
This add/drop window applies the same way to undergraduate and graduate students alike — what differs by level is the withdrawal policy that follows it (see Withdrawal & Leave of Absence).
Where Classes Are Held
Georgian Court holds classes at several locations, in addition to the main Lakewood campus:
Georgian Court at Brookdale 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ 07738
Online Courses Fully online sections are available across many programs — see our Online Programs page for details.
Summer Registration
Summer session is a great way to stay on pace toward graduation, retake a course, or lighten a future semester's load — whether you're a current GCU student, a visiting student from another institution, or a rising high school senior.
Summer courses run in multiple shorter sessions across the summer, giving you flexibility to fit coursework around a job, internship, or family commitments. Contact the Registrar's Office for current summer session dates, per-credit pricing, and application details if you're a non-GCU student looking to take a summer course at GCU.
Winter Registration
Winter session packs a full course into a few intensive weeks between fall and spring semesters — a good option to:
Non-GCU students interested in a winter course must complete an application and submit transcripts; undergraduates also need course approval from their home institution.
Contact the Registrar's Office for current winter session dates, per-credit pricing, and the refund deadline — these change from year to year.
