Getting Started
Are you a transfer student?
We welcome transfers from both two-year and four-year institutions accredited by a recognized regional accreditor, such as the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
The line that matters: if you've earned 24 or more transferable college credits after finishing high school and before enrolling at GCU, you're a transfer applicant. Fewer than 24 credits? You'll apply through our First-Year Students path instead — and that's okay, we'll make sure you land in the right place.

Requirements
What you'll need.
2.0 GPA or Higher
A cumulative GPA of 2.0+ (4.0 scale) from your previous college(s), calculated across all institutions attended.
Official Transcripts
From every college you've attended — even if it's just one course.
Military Credit
Have military training or coursework? Send your official Joint Services transcript showing your ACE credit recommendations.
The Fine Print, Simplified
How your credits transfer.
Once you're admitted, the Office of the Registrar builds you a Preliminary Progress Chart — showing exactly which credits transferred (marked with a "T") and the grade you earned, so you know exactly where you stand from day one.
Built To Be Fair
Policies designed around transfer students, not against them.
IMPACT General Education & Block Transfer
Our IMPACT general education program is built to be equitable and generous to both community college and four-year transfers alike. If you've earned an associate degree with a 2.0+ GPA before enrolling, our Block Transfer Policy applies — your entire associate degree gen-ed program transfers in as a block toward GCU's general education requirements.
Coming from a NJ Community College?
Course equivalencies are listed at njtransfer.org, and if you're at Brookdale Community College or Ocean County College, we've built dedicated transfer pathway guides just for you.
Started an Associate Degree But Didn't Finish?
Under New Jersey's reverse transfer process, you may be able to complete that associate degree through your original community college even after enrolling at GCU.
Local? Even Better. — GCU Pathway
You've done the hard part.
Brookdale Community College and Ocean County College are both a short 30-minute drive away, with dedicated transfer pathway documents showing exactly how your associate degree courses map to a GCU bachelor's degree.
The Process
Five steps. No fee, no tests, no essay.
