Undergraduate Certificates

A major gets you the degree. A certificate gets you a focused, documented specialty on top of it. GCU’s undergraduate certificates add a defined body of coursework to your transcript, whether you’re deepening your major or exploring a field you can’t fit into one.

Understanding Your Options

GCU's undergraduate certificates are short, credit-bearing programs you complete alongside your major, or on their own if you're outside the field.

GCU Undergraduate Certificates

Institutional credentials awarded by Georgian Court University once you complete a defined set of courses. Every course counts as regular undergraduate credit, and most certificates are open to majors and non-majors alike.

Some certificates open doors beyond graduation

The Integrative Health Certificate earns advanced standing in GCU's M.A. in Integrative Health. The Integrative Health & Wellness Coaching Certificate is built to align with national board standards for health coaches.

Start With a Certificate, Build On It

Certificates are designed to connect to what comes next. Some of the notable pathways:

  • Integrative Health Certificate (19 cr) + M.A. in Integrative Health: earn a 3- to 6-credit course waiver toward the master’s, based on your academic standing.
  • Coaching Certificate (19 cr) + Coaching minor: the certificate and minor share the same 19 credits. Non-majors who complete the sequence can earn the minor, and Exercise Science, Wellness & Sports majors can complete it alongside their degree.
  • Integrative Health & Wellness Coaching Certificate (12 cr) + NBHWC exam: once GCU’s program is approved by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching, graduates can sit for the national board exam. Until then, the certificate stands on its own.
  • International Business Certificate: combine it with a business major or any major, and graduate with documented global experience.
  • Pastoral Ministry Certificate (18 cr): a focused add-on for students already studying Religious Studies.
