First-Year & Graduate Aid
Financial aid works a little differently depending on where you are in your academic journey. Here's what's specific to incoming first-year students, and what's specific to graduate students.
First-Year Students
100% of GCU's first-time freshmen receive some type of financial aid. As an incoming first-year student, you're automatically considered for GCU merit scholarships upon acceptance — no separate scholarship application required. You may also be eligible for:
Graduate Students
To receive federal Stafford Loans, graduate students must file a FAFSA each year, be matriculating in a graduate degree program, and be enrolled in at least 5 credits.
Graduate Assistantships are granted to students who want to work closely with faculty while receiving a stipend or scholarship. Learn more about Graduate Assistantships
Summer Loans: to be eligible for summer session loans (including Stafford and PLUS loans), you must be enrolled in at least 5 matriculating credits during the summer term. See our Summer Financial Aid page for details.
