Studio Art, Minor

Art-making is one of the most powerful forms of human expression — and you don't have to be an art major to develop your studio practice. GCU's Studio Art minor introduces the foundational skills of drawing, 2D design, and 3D design before opening up into a range of studio art electives. Open to students of any major who want to cultivate their creative practice.

Program overview

The Studio Art minor provides a structured foundation in studio art practice, beginning with the core drawing and design sequences and expanding into upper-level studio electives. Students develop their skills across media and build a portfolio of work that reflects their creative development. The minor is an excellent complement for students in Communication, Graphic Design, Education, and any field where visual and creative skills add professional value.
