Join us to explore one of Georgian Court University’s newest and most impactful programs: the Early Literacy Specialist (ELS) Endorsement.

As New Jersey introduces updated early literacy requirements, Georgian Court is launching a new 2026 cohort designed for educators who are ready to lead the next generation of literacy instruction. This program empowers teachers to become literacy experts—equipped with the latest research-based strategies to strengthen reading development, support struggling learners, and guide colleagues in effective literacy practices.

During this event, Dr. Denise Furlong, Program Director, will introduce the ELS program, discuss the growing importance of literacy leadership in schools, and walk you through how this specialized endorsement can elevate your impact in the classroom and across your district.

The 19-credit graduate program is designed for experienced educators who hold a standard instructional certificate or CEAS in P–3 or K–6. Upon successful completion, graduates become eligible for New Jersey certification as an Early Literacy Specialist, with full educational services certification available to those with three years of full-time teaching experience.

If you’re passionate about helping students become confident readers and want to lead literacy innovation in your school, this program is your next step.
