Virtual – Lion’s Table Talk: Understanding Race in America
June 18, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Georgian Court University Council for Diversity and Inclusion presents Lion’s Table Talk: Understanding Race in America. This virtual event is free and open to the community.
The death of George Floyd in the custody of Minneapolis police has sparked outrage and pain, international protests, and calls for policy changes and police reform. What steps do we need to take to better understand the problem of racism? How can each of us be part of the solution?
Register at bit.ly/GCU_LionsTableTalk1 and join our conversation as we focus on race and understanding. Panelists will also take questions in advance via email.
Panelists include:
Maurice Diawara, a local educator and activist with the NAACP’s Youth & College Division;
Sheritta Hughes, Ph.D., LPC, ACS, a GCU assistant professor of psychology
Caleb Lewis, a local activist and speaker at the recent Lakewood march for #BlackLivesMatter
Joy Smith, Ed.D., Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund program at GCU
Kayla Wilson ’21, President of GCU’s Black Student Union
Don’t miss this opportunity to join the conversation about racism and what we can do to improve the lives of African-Americans and our country.
