Georgian Court Graduation Ceremonies to be Held on Wednesday, May 17

Georgian Court University will celebrate the 112th Annual Commencement Ceremony marking the graduation of the Class of 2023* on Wednesday, May 17 on the athletic fields outside of the Wellness Center on the university’s Lakewood campus.

Georgian Court will confer 504 degrees during the undergraduate and graduate ceremonies, including 354 Bachelor’s Degrees, 146 Master’s Degrees, and 4 Doctorate Degrees awarded from the university’s four schools:

  • School of Arts & Sciences: 99 Bachelor’s, 25 Master’s, and 4 Doctorates. 
  • School of Business & Digital Media:  50 Bachelor’s and 25 Master’s. 
  • School of Education: 30 Bachelor’s and 92 Master’s.
  • Hackensack Meridian Health School of Nursing and Wellness at GCU: 175 Bachelor’s and 4 Master’s.

The ceremonies will begin with a Baccalaureate Mass at 10 a.m. held inside the Wellness Center, open to all students, families and visitors of all faiths.

The Undergraduate Ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m.  The guest speaker will be Father Greg Boyle, Founder of Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, the largest gang-intervention, rehabilitation, and re-entry program in the world.  GCU will bestow a Doctor of Humane Letters honorary degree.

The undergraduate student speaker will be Giayana Feliciano, immediate Past President of the Student Government Association Executive Board. She will earn a B.A. in Psychology.

The Graduate Ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m.  The guest speaker and honorary degree recipient will be Carol Stillwell, Owner and President of Stillwell-Hansen, Inc. a leader in data center infrastructure solutions.  GCU will bestow a Doctor of Business Administration honorary degree.

The graduate student speaker will be Jennifer DePietro, who will earn an M.S.  in Communication & Digital Marketing.
