Money, a leading financial news and personal finance site, has recognized Georgian Court University as one of America’s Best Colleges.
To find colleges that combine quality and affordability, Money analyzed dozens of data points, including graduation rates, cost of attendance, financial aid and alumni salaries. As the result of their research, the publication developed a star rating system with colleges where “your tuition (and time) is likely to pay off.”
Last year, Money ranked Georgian Court as the #1 Catholic university in the state for value. Affordability, the university’s generous financial aid, and the early career earnings of recent graduates are among the many factors they considered.
“We pride ourselves on offering a transformative education that is affordable for all types of students,” said Joseph R. Marbach, Ph.D., president of Georgian Court. “We are grateful for this honor, which recognizes our efforts to provide a value-driven education.”
The university offers more than $19 million in grants and scholarships each year to students, more than 40 percent of whom come from families with very modest incomes. About 36 percent of GCU students also are the first in their families to attend college.
Money was founded in 1972 as a print magazine that helped everyday people live richer lives by learning personal finance strategies that improved their bottom line. 300 million people learn more about their finances through the site, which has won myriad news and finance-based awards in its 50-year history.
