Department of Business & Design
Business education that means business.
Business doesn’t happen in a vacuum — and neither does your education here. The Department of Business & Design combines rigorous academics with real-world experience employers are actually looking for. Whether you’re studying accounting, building a career in sport management, or creating your future through graphic design, you’ll learn from faculty who bring genuine industry experience into the classroom — and you’ll leave with skills you can use on day one.
Our business programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) — a nationally recognized credential that signals quality to employers and graduate schools alike. Every student in our business majors builds their foundation through the Business Core: 45 credits covering accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing. Your chosen major then sharpens that foundation into deep, specialized expertise.
What sets GCU apart is range — and values. You’ll find a home here whether you’re drawn to the precision of accounting and CPA exam prep, the creative discipline of graphic design, the fast-moving world of digital marketing, or the growing esports industry. And throughout it all, the Mercy tradition of ethical, justice-centered leadership shapes how you’ll think about your career — and your impact on the world.
