Director of TRIO-Student Support Services Danielle Lamb recently visited Capitol Hill to promote the program and represent Georgian Court University. She met with Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) and other legislators during a recent advocacy gathering on Capitol Hill. TRIO-SSS is a core program associated with the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE), which just wrapped up its 41st Annual Policy Seminar in Washington, D.C., with more than 700 professionals in attendance.

Ms. Lamb spoke with Congressman Smith and other leaders about increasing critical funding for the federal Pell Grant program and for TRIO, which provides wide-ranging support for first-generation students, low-income students, and students with disabilities. The requested budget increase is especially important to help participants as they face cost-of-living increases and ongoing challenges associated with the pandemic.
