Join our fall 2025 virtual program & immerse yourself in the Quichua culture and community of Ecuador!

Itinerary

Monday, November 3rd 8-10pm virtual 

  • Introduction to the Kichwa culture
  • Carpentry & Embroidery
  • Music, Dance, & Festivals

Tuesday, November 4th 2-3:30pm virtual / on campus option

  • Orientation to Ecuador
  • Visit to the equator line (Mitad del Mundo)

Thursday, November 6th 1pm-3pm virtual

  • School visit
  • Interactive Workshop on Kichwa language

Friday, November 7th 11am-1pm on campus

  • Cooking class & nutrition
  • Medicinal Plants

Saturday, November 8th  10:30-1pm virtual

  • Ibarra stores and markets
  • Quito – market and historic sites

Cost & Enrollment

  • Free to students in GS200 – Global Perspectives of Diversity (Fall 2nd session, 1 credit course)
  • $65 program fee for all other students and community members
  • Open to GCU alumni, faculty, staff, and administration
  • Priority is given to students and virtual seats are limited!

  • Application will open for students. Please apply on Blackboard under the Global Education organization – see “Application Process” and apply under “Ecuador Virtual Program” (please see Getting Started for details on how to join the Blackboard organization)
