Taking the Leap: From Payroll to Purpose: Yulanda Darden ’09

Author Yulanda Darden wrote Jayden and ZoraDean Jennifer Edmonds, Ph.D., of the Georgian Court University School of Business and Digital Media (SBDM), hosted a meaningful and inspirational conversation—From Payroll to Purpose—with writer Yulanda Darden ’09 in February 2021.

Ms. Darden shared how she worked in corporate America as a payroll professional for 30 years before taking the leap to become a children’s book author. Today, under the pseudonym Trevor D., she is the author behind the “I Am Me Series,” which includes four books centered around a little African-American boy named Jayden.

The engaging discussion between Dean Edmonds and Ms. Darden covered wide-ranging topics, including diversity in children’s literature and publishing, the challenges of entrepreneurship, and what success looks like in the middle of a pandemic!

Deposit Deadline Extended to June 1

Georgian Court University has extended the deposit deadline to June 1 in response to the U.S. Department of Education announcement concerning delayed data availability from the revised Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Additionally, deposits are also refundable up to June 1. Click here for more information about the deposit extension.
