Dean Jennifer Edmonds, Ph.D., of the Georgian Court University School of Business and Digital Media (SBDM), hosted a meaningful and inspirational conversation—From Payroll to Purpose—with writer Yulanda Darden ’09 in February 2021.
Ms. Darden shared how she worked in corporate America as a payroll professional for 30 years before taking the leap to become a children’s book author. Today, under the pseudonym Trevor D., she is the author behind the “I Am Me Series,” which includes four books centered around a little African-American boy named Jayden.
The engaging discussion between Dean Edmonds and Ms. Darden covered wide-ranging topics, including diversity in children’s literature and publishing, the challenges of entrepreneurship, and what success looks like in the middle of a pandemic!
