Convocation 2021

The GCU community formally welcomes its newest students, the Class of 2024, and celebrates high-achieving sophomores, juniors, and seniors who excelled academically last year. The keynote will be delivered by Kathryn Quinn-Sánchez, professor of world languages (Spanish) and cultures, chair of the Department of World Languages and Cultures, and chair of the Faculty Assembly, who received the Virginia Graham ’31 Award for Teaching Excellence in May 2020.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, attendance is limited to within the GCU community.

A live stream of the event will take place on Thursday, August 27th at 2:30pm.

Virtual – Graduate and MA in Criminal Justice & Human Rights Program: Virtual Graduate Information Session

esteemed professors. The session will offer an overview of all the graduate programs and highlight the fully online Master of Arts in Criminal Justice and Human Rights degree. Gain knowledge and skills to initiate or advance a career in the public interest from an institution dedicated to social justice and values-based education. The Master of Arts in Criminal Justice & Human Rights program offers new opportunities and professional advancement to those joining or employed in criminal justice and related fields as well as private and nonprofit organizations. On-Campus Information Sessions begin with an admissions presentation led by a member of the Admissions team, followed by a student-led campus tour, and capped off with lunch (on us) in our dining hall.

Virtual – PSYD in School Psychology and MA in Criminal Justice & Human Rights: Virtual Graduate Information Session

The session will focus on the Doctorate in School Psychology (Psy.D.), Advanced Standing (Psy.D.), and the M.A. Criminal Justice & Human Rights programs. The five-year Psy.D. program promotes professional practice by developing competent, socially conscious professionals capable of providing evidence-based services to children, individual schools and school districts, and school staff members who impact the lives of children. The three-year Advanced Psy.D. in School Psychology programs offers working school psychologists the ability to enhance their school-based practice and expand their practice into other areas such as hospitals, clinics, and private practice. We will also discuss our Criminal Justice & Human Rights program. The fully online Master of Arts in Criminal Justice and Human Rights degree assists students gain knowledge and skills to initiate or advance a career in the public interest from an institution dedicated to social justice and values-based education.
