Georgian Court University has made significant strides in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings, climbing 16 spots in the Best Regional Universities North category. The university now ranks 95th for the 2024-2025 academic year, up from 111th in the previous year. This marks Georgian Court’s highest ranking in over ten years, reflecting its ongoing commitment to academic excellence and student success.

The university also improved its standing in the Top Performers on Social Mobility category, moving to 90th from 103rd. These achievements underscore Georgian Court’s commitment to educational excellence and its focus on supporting students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who are the first in their families to pursue higher education.

“We have always been dedicated to ensuring that all students, regardless of their background, have access to a high-quality education,” said Joseph R. Marbach, Ph.D., President of Georgian Court University. “Our rise in the rankings reflects not only our academic excellence but also the strength of our programs aimed at supporting first-generation students and those from underserved communities. The GCU Promise program is one way we’re making higher education more attainable for students who might otherwise see it as out of reach.”

The ranking report, U.S. News Best Colleges, is one of students and parents’ most widely used resources during the college search. It compares many criteria believed to be essential for college success:  academic quality, including graduation rates; student-faculty ratio; social mobility; and more, to determine the rankings.

This year’s results affirm the university’s role as an institution that both delivers academically and excels at empowering students with the tools they need to overcome challenges, pursue their passions, and transform their lives through education. Georgian Court’s rise in the Social Mobility category is especially meaningful, as it recognizes schools that excel in graduating Pell Grant recipients, a group that traditionally faces more obstacles in completing their education.

“At Georgian Court, we pride ourselves on offering small, personalized classes and a wide range of programs that meet the needs of today’s diverse student body,” continued Dr. Marbach. “Whether they are traditional undergraduates, working professionals, or degree completers, our students find an environment that is supportive and designed to help them succeed academically and beyond.”
