Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) and Georgian Court University (GCU) are partners in a new articulation agreement that provides transfer credit and financial incentives for RVCC graduates to pursue their bachelor’s degree at Georgian Court.

“Partnering with Raritan Valley Community College is another opportunity for students to expand possibility for study either in Lakewood or at our location on the Northern Monmouth campus in Hazlet. As a transfer-friendly institution, we are excited to further our commitment by providing an accessible and affordable education in North Jersey,” says Justin G. Roy, GCU vice president of enrollment management.

Transfer students at Georgian Court are extremely successful. New national reports found that, on average, transfer students graduate from a four-year institution at a 60 percent rate. At GCU, a full 80 percent of transfer students earn bachelor degrees.

Articulation Agreement Delivers Benefits to RVCC Students

The articulation agreement, also considered a dual admissions agreement, provides a range of benefits. Students who receive an associate degree from RVCC may transfer to GCU with junior status, as long as they meet certain requirements such as maintaining the requisite grade point average. They may also have to meet additional requirements for GCU programs in education, nursing, and Dance. Students may apply to GCU anytime within completing their first 30 credits at RVCC.

“We welcome the new agreement with Georgian Court University, which paves the way for our graduates to seamlessly transfer into a baccalaureate degree program and receive a discount on tuition,” said RVCC President Michael J. McDonough.

The agreement also includes financial discounts for RVCC graduates transferring to GCU, ranging from 20 percent to 52 percent, depending on their grade average at the time of admission. In addition, the GCU application fee will be waived for RVCC students.

For additional information about the new agreement, contact Paul Michaud, RVCC’s director of transfer and career services, at 908-526-1200, ext. 8333.
