Sister Maria Cordis Richey

The Sister Maria Cordis Richey Center for the Humanities and Creative Arts

The Sister Maria Cordis Richey Center for the Humanities and Creative Arts at Georgian Court University (GCU) serves as a vibrant hub for the humanities and creative arts, elevating their profile throughout the university. It offers undergraduate students support and resources for research, creative projects, and experiential learning opportunities. Additionally, the Center coordinates support for faculty teaching and research, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration within the humanities and creative arts, as well as with other disciplines.

The Center also engages audiences beyond the university with programming focused on the value of the humanities and creative arts in the 21st century. By doing so, it fosters dialogue across disciplines that enriches the entire community.

The Richey Center for the Humanities and Creative Arts has a threefold mission:

  • to coordinate a range of learning opportunities for undergraduate students in the humanities and creative arts;
  • to assist faculty with research resources and collaborative opportunities related to the humanities and creative arts;
  • to engage audiences beyond Georgian Court University with public programming related to the value of the humanities and arts in our contemporary world.
