Georgian Court University (GCU) has been named to Phi Theta Kappa’s 2026 Transfer Honor Roll, earning national recognition as one of the country’s most transfer-friendly institutions for the ninth consecutive year. GCU is one of only five New Jersey colleges and universities to appear on the Transfer Honor Roll every year since 2018.
The Transfer Honor Roll recognizes colleges and universities that demonstrate excellence in creating pathways that help community college transfer students successfully earn bachelor’s degrees. This year, Phi Theta Kappa recognized 275 institutions nationwide.
“Transfer students are an essential part of the Georgian Court community, making up 44% of our new students each year,” said Daniel Gallen, Associate Director for Transfer Recruitment. “They’ve already demonstrated the determination to continue their education, and our goal is to make that transition as seamless as possible. We’re proud to be recognized for the ninth consecutive year for creating an environment where transfer students can succeed.”
According to Phi Theta Kappa, institutions named to the Transfer Honor Roll are evaluated across five areas that influence transfer student success: transfer student outcomes, credit mobility and degree applicability, financial support, recruitment and admissions practices, and campus engagement and support.
“This recognition is about much more than transfer agreements,” said Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. “Successful transfer happens when institutions intentionally design policies, practices, and campus cultures that help students thrive after they arrive. These colleges have demonstrated that transfer student success is not accidental. It is a strategic priority.”
