On September 2, Georgian Court University will welcome students to campus for the 2025-26 academic year.
The “Class of 2029” includes 164 first-time students from 12 U.S. states: California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. The new class also features 11 international students from 10 countries: Iceland, England, Germany, Denmark, Mexico, Norway, the Netherlands, Austria, Gambia, and Canada.
Approximately 59 percent of the first-time students are also first-generation college students, marking continued success in the university’s outreach and support for this community.
“We have a fantastic group of new students joining our GCU Pride to pursue their education and career goals,” said Erika Davis, Ed.D., Vice President for Enrollment Management. “We are excited to continue the tradition of our Catholic, Mercy University of providing both a great education and the powerful social and community support needed for overall student well-being and success.”
The most popular undergraduate majors for incoming students continue to be in high-demand fields, including Nursing, Business Administration, and Exercise Science, Wellness & Sports.
“The university continues to assess the changing demands of these industries and add programs, courses, and opportunities to keep our students ahead of the curve and meet the needs of the future workplace,” added Dr. Davis.
Georgian Court has also expanded its academic offerings. New minors in the School of Business & Digital Media include:
- Cybersecurity Administration
- E-Sports
- Healthcare Administration
- Health Communication
- Design, Thinking & Innovation
- Film
This fall’s incoming class also includes 164 transfer students, as well as 179 graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in Social Work, Clinical Mental Health, Psychology, Education, Business, and Nursing.
“The increasingly tight job market has made graduate school an attractive option, and we have definitely seen an increase in graduate student applications and enrollments this year,” said Davis. “To respond to the demand, the university was able to increase the number of graduate Weisbrod scholarships to 42 this year.”
Georgian Court also continues to add learning pathways and pre-professional opportunities to the list of growing career-forward educational options now available for students, including:
- Ocean County Police Academy College Credit in Criminal Justice Program
- GCU/St. Georges University Pre-Medicine/Veterinary Pathways Program
“Starting college, whether you are just out of high school or coming back to advance your professional career, is a major life event,” said Dr. Davis. “Georgian Court helps students focus on the journey and gives them the power to achieve their goals and dreams. As our new slogan says: Belong. Believe. Become.”
