A recent study has found Georgian Court faculty received high marks from their students – giving GCU professors the highest ranking of any institution of higher education in New Jersey.
The study was conducted by CollegeRover, a prominent college and university information platform, and compared student reviews of over 79,000 professors across more than 2,100 schools on RateMyProfessors.com. The study then broke down the best-of lists by subject and state, with rankings based on the average score from anonymous reviews on the site.
CollegeRover included 20 New Jersey-based institutions of higher education in its study. Professors in the Garden State were ranked among the best in the nation, placing 4th out of 50 states.
The new study is yet another accolade for Georgian Court this fall, with U.S. News & World Report granting high marks to the university in September for social mobility, student/faculty ratio, and low debt in their annual rankings. Among the 167 higher education institutions in U.S. News’ Best Regional Universities North category, Georgian Court ranked in the top 17% for Student/Faculty Ratio.
The success and dedication of Georgian Court’s faculty has long served as a point of pride and source of acclaim for the university. As noted in the 2023 Faculty Focus, an annual publication documenting the faculty’s scholarship work, GCU’s faculty have contributed over 130 books, journal articles, conference presentations, grants, and creative works since 2022, culminating in a Guggenheim Fellowship, multiple recognitions by NJBIZ, and an award from the Garden State Film Festival.
“Our faculty continue to demonstrate an incredible dedication to the students they teach and our small class size allows our students to truly connect with them,” said President Joseph R. Marbach. “Georgian Court has historically been a place for caring and thoughtful instruction that prepares our students for successful careers.”
