Teacher prep programs offered through graduate education at Georgian Court University deliver some of the best value in the nation, according to recent rankings by Teacher.org. Important factors such as accreditation and challenging exam requirements helped land Georgian Court on the organization’s 2019-2020 list of Best Value Teacher Prep Master’s Programs. Affordability was important too, and Teacher.org found that per credit, Georgian Court graduate teacher prep programs cost $296 less than the state average for similar master’s programs at other private institutions.

GCU School of Education Dean Christopher J. Campisano, Ed.D., said the overall strength of GCU’s Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) reflects the dedication of students and faculty.
“This well-deserved honor belongs to the faculty and staff who are deeply dedicated to providing our teacher candidates with an exceptional, educator-preparation experience, and our hard-working, immensely committed students who have chosen to enter this noble profession,” he said.
The GCU School of Education attracts undergraduates who want to teach, career-changers who want to put their expertise to use in the classroom, and veteran educators interested in administration and leadership. The School of Education, which already offers nearly 20 graduate programs and post-graduate certificates, recently added a new M.S. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration.
Teacher Prep Programs Offer Variety, Value
For decades, teacher prep offerings through Georgian Court’s graduate education programs have given students the knowledge, exposure, and insight needed to excel as classroom teachers. Graduate education programs are offered online, at GCU’s historic Lakewood campus, and at other locations across New Jersey. The university’s graduate-level initial teacher prep programs include:
- M.A.T. in Early Childhood (P–3) Education & Teacher of Students with Disabilities Endorsement
- M.A.T. in Elementary Education (K–6) & Teacher of Students with Disabilities Endorsement
- M.A.T. in Subject-Specific Education (K–12) & Teacher of Students with Disabilities Endorsement
- M.A.T. in English as a Second Language & Teacher of Students with Disabilities Endorsement
“We combed through hundreds of schools around the nation and thoughtfully handpicked master’s programs that we are confident to list as the best of the best,” said Kelly Simpson, an editor at Teacher.org. “Our hope is that this list will attract a bit of well-deserved attention…while giving students the opportunity to learn more about what your program has to offer.”
“This well-deserved honor belongs to the faculty and staff who are deeply dedicated to providing our teacher candidates with an exceptional, educator-preparation experience.”
