Summer Financial Aid

Georgian Court University Gate

Undergraduate and graduate students who wish to take classes at Georgian Court University during the summer may be able to secure financial aid. This consists of any remaining eligibility for federal financial aid in the form of Stafford Loans and PLUS Loans. There are no institutional funds available for summer courses.

Graduate students who apply for Stafford and PLUS loans must be taking at least 5 matriculating credits, while undergraduates must be enrolled for at least 6 matriculating credits. For example, graduate students may be eligible if they enroll for 5 credits in either Summer I or Summer II, and undergraduate students may be eligible if they enroll for 3 credits in Summer I and 3 credits in Summer II. Summer aid is evaluated on an individual basis. Repayment begins six months after termination of college enrollment or when a student falls below half-time status. Interest accruing during those periods may be paid or capitalized.

You must be registered for summer session classes before the loans are awarded. Please note that it is your responsibility to make sure the loan amount is enough to cover the cost of the class(es). If you do not complete the credits, the loan will be cancelled.

To obtain loans for summer sessions, you must submit a Summer Financial Aid Application to the GCU Office of Financial Aid.
