Summer Financial Aid

Georgian Court University Gate

Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in summer courses at Georgian Court University may be eligible for financial aid, based on remaining federal aid eligibility.

Available Aid

  • Federal financial aid only:
    • Stafford Loans
    • PLUS Loans
  • No institutional funding is available for summer courses

Enrollment Requirements

  • Graduate students: Must be enrolled in at least 5 matriculating credits
  • Undergraduate students: Must be enrolled in at least 6 matriculating credits
  • Credits may be combined across sessions:
    • Example (Undergraduate): 3 credits in Summer I + 3 credits in Summer II
    • Example (Graduate): 5 credits in either Summer I or Summer II

Important Notes

  • Summer aid is evaluated on an individual basis
  • You must be registered for summer courses before loans can be awarded
  • It is your responsibility to ensure loan amounts cover your course costs
  • If you do not complete your credits, your loan will be cancelled

Loan Repayment

  • Repayment begins:
    • 6 months after leaving school, or
    • When you drop below half-time enrollment
  • Interest during this period may be:
    • Paid as it accrues, or
    • Capitalized (added to the loan balance)
