GCU’s Transition and Career Studies Program Enrolling Students with Intellectual Disabilities
Last fall, Georgian Court University was awarded a nearly $2.5 million grant for the program through the federal Transition and Postsecondary Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities. For qualified students, TCS provides an opportunity to learn in college classrooms, live on the GCU campus, and engage with typically enrolled students through clubs, sports, and campus events. At the end of four years, successful TCS students will receive a Board of Trustees-approved certificate of completion.
GCU Rises in 2022 U.S. News and World Report Rankings
In U.S. News & World Report’s recently released 2022 rankings, Georgian Court University climbed four positions to 109th in the Best Regional Universities North category, up from 113th a year ago and 30 positions higher than in the 2019 rankings.
We Remember: Reflecting on 9/11 and Beyond
The events of 9/11 affected all of us in some way. Some of us lost family members or friends in the attacks. Some of us had loved ones serve in the wars that followed. As a nation, we became more fearful, unwillingly becoming participants in a War on Terror that shifted the way we interacted with the unknown. Collectively, from that day on, we lost something critical: our ability to be carefree.
President Joseph Marbach Named Chair of ICUNJ Trustee Board
GCU President Joseph R. Marbach, Ph.D., is the new Board of Trustees chair for the Independent Colleges and Universities in New Jersey (ICUNJ). The organization represents 14 independent higher education institutions from throughout the state, including Georgian Court.
Georgian Court Awarded $200K Opportunity Grant to Support Student Services
Georgian Court University is one of 35 New Jersey colleges awarded federal grant money through the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund II for programs serving students affected by COVID-19. GCU’s $200,000 award from New Jersey's Opportunity Meets Innovation Grant Challenge will expand student mental health services and provide an enhanced inclusive learning environment for students.
